MTV is known for their hip sensibilities and ability to stay on top of the juiciest gossip - the good, the bad and everyone’s favorite, the ugly. To assist in broadcasting the most up to date “buzz”, MTV contracted Code and Theory, a firm in NYC and my day job, to design and program a site that was as hip as the celebrities plastered on it’s pages. I worked hand-in-hand with one of our designers to create MTV’s Buzz Worthy site - where music, celebrity and pop culture collide. 

Dr Pepper, MTV and Epic musical group Cartel teamed up for an innovative look into the musical genius involved in writing a hit album. To accomplish this, they contracted Code and Theory, a firm in NYC and my day job, to design and program a site that could handle the intense media and public attention caused by Band in a Bubble. That’s right, they locked Cartel in a giant bubble located on NYC’s Pier 54 on the Hudson River. Music and Dr Pepper lovers were encouraged to visit the pier 24/7 to watch Cartel at work and play. But for those who couldn’t make it to the actual bubble - there were 24 hour live feed web cams, a news blog, fan message boards, user uploaded content (audio, picture and video), commenting, polls, schedules, and of course Dr Pepper cap code redemption for prizes, as well as a band blog - all of which were coordinated by Code and Theory. I had the pleasure of working exclusively on this project from start to finish, handling everything from site programming to web cam set up and maintenance. The unlimited Dr Pepper provided was definitely an added perk!

The Charlie Rose show had a site that needed a face life - both in looks and technology - so they contracted Code and Theory, a firm in NYC and my day job, to design and program their dream site. After a year of almost ground up development using a custom rock-solid Java platform, the new Charlie Rose site sparkled. We had managed to bring their vision to life - a stream lined but jam packed site that had easy functionality and a great look. My job was to make sure the front end of the site looked just right with fully compliant CSS. I also implemented the AJAX-y way the videos load by swapping out the thumbnail and auto playing the video for quicker page load times. Plus, I put together the DHTML scrollers on the Features page to ensure they look and function universally across all browsers. It was a fun site to develop but I’m glad all of those headaches are over!

Think Wordpress is just for blogs? Guess again. Believe it or not, this very clean and powerful site it built on top of a Wordpress engine. Personally, I’m very fond of Wordpress and have always thought it was capable of so much more than just blogs. This is a fine example. Urbanista contracted Code and Theory, a firm in NYC and my day job, to design and program this site. Our design team made a sleek and sexy design that I was then able to breakdown and program with an almost ridiculous turnaround time. Thanks WP.

What would MTV be without the music.. the shows… and now.. THE BLOGS. Yes, its true. If you haven’t seen MTV’s blogs yet, you are really missing out. Code and Theory, a firm in NYC and my day job, has been living/breathing MTV with all of these blogs to design and program! This one is the Style Blog and is really a great showcase - LOTS of pictures and a very user friendly category system. I was in charge of fitting this sleek design into an easy to use Wordpress platform, plus optimizing all of the plug-ins, customization and deployment.
